Why Knitting?

My grandmother taught me to knit as child and, not having nearly enough patience for it, I would end up frustrated and all tangled up in my yarn. As a teenager I discovered youtube tutorials and knitting books at the Library and my obsession began. I created many straight garter knit scarves (and one horrific garter knit huge sweater cardigan vest of my own “design”) before deciding I wanted to learn every technique that I could, from cables and lace, slipped stitches and colorwork, to new construction methods. Like many, though I was busier than ever with work, the pandemic left me with extra time at home and I finally decided that I wanted to create things that were uniquely mine and with help and encouragement from my husband, plus a lot of knitting, math, and some frustration, All Tangled Up Knits as a real business was born.
